-3: Final route posted

After much delay, the final route is posted. Of course, all is subject to change, as the water may be fast and high at our intended crossings, but the map should be accurate.

We’re looking for a few good men. At least we assume that they’ve grown up and become men because frankly none of us have talked with ‘em since High School. We seem to remember something about moving to Virginia or some such. Nevertheless, email doesn’t seem to work and I don’t think any of us kids really had cell phones 10 years ago.

So, if you have modern contact information for these guys (who shall remain nameless in case they really are trying to run away from their former identities) please let us know. If they happen to work for some clandestine operation and we just burned their undercover presence…. well, then I blame the Internet Archives who still happened to have the source photo floating around. Said agency should have checked there first. We also apologize for burning them at all. Sorry.

Glen Aulin HSC

It’s not the first bit of discussion, but it was the first meet-up. Four of us: Myself via Skype, Katie, Tony, and Eric discussed some routes and initial planning details.

Although the permits from Yosemite require three routes, we’re pretty sure this is the one we really want:

Tuolumne Meadows -> Glen Aulin (0.50, 1.51, 3.98)
Glen Aulin -> May Lake (4.03,0.44,4.62)
May Lake -> Snow Creek (1.30, 3.64, 1.62, 2.59)
Snow Creek -> Yosemite Valley (1.57, 2.94, 3.16)

Also got some dates nailed down. Everyone arrives in Yosemite valley on August 11th, 2011. The hike will start the next day with an expected return to the valley on August 15th.

An email was sent out to most of the original group that went on the Yosemite hike almost 10 years ago with the exception of the Williams’ boys. If you’re out there guys: shoot us your email addresses!
